Well..we didn't get 50/50 since the motion had already been made for 50/50, and didn't pass....but we did get 6 out of 14 races to qualify. Not bad, have to take what we can get. That was still a close one in my opinion, don't remember what the vote was exactly, but it was too close for the show of hands that we had at the drivers meeting.

One thing I thought it was kind funny that the original schedule had the same dates as 3 man-cup races and 1 gold-cup race.
Then those dates on top of man-cup races were with qualifying.
But the dates are changed for now but it might change again since the schedule was not voted yet.
I think July 4th date might change at next meeting.
Anyway, adding two more qualify dates is improvement.

Some positive steps taken, can't get everything you want but better than how I envisioned it coming out.

Does anyone think that having multiple candidates for president might have made the BOD more responsive to the members?

I think its because they have an overwhelming desire to represent their people to the best of their ability and genuinely care about what is important to the local karters. They have heard the wants of their membership and feel an uncontrollable need to make changes. I for one hope what ever the reason, they continue along the path of progress.

I believe that you two fine gentleman need to trust in your board and have faith that they will deliver to you what is in your best interest. They serve as an example to all of us and should be treated and spoken of with only the highest respect.

Kool-aid..... oh that's a funny one Mr Horn. Just have a lil faith, they have your best interests at heart and will work diligently to see that you have everything you need to make your karting experience a pleasurable one.

How do they pick which races to have Q other than the Champ race?

Mike,

The way I understood it last night, the last 2 races are odvious due to point races, the other one was to be one of the first 2 races of season and the 2 added this year were chosen for the nite races because tose are short track races and it would also allow for a later start time than before.

At least thats what I understood from the arguements/discutions over the qualifying envents, but at least we got 1 shy of 50/50 for next year and that was one of the victory's the members got last night...

Racing in the rain is the really hard sell for OVKA...
