Studs, the principal method of holding a Yamaha together, have to be removed from time to time. They loosen, strip, or just wallow out the hole they're in.
Some use two nuts jammed together, and then tighten the stud in place. A reasonable method, if in a hurry. I'd suggest purchasing a Snap-On-Tools GC-500 Stud Remover. It uses a collet for each size stud, (purchased separately) and when the collet is tightened it firmly grips the thread along a greater length than the two nuts do. In addition, these two nuts tend to elongate the stud between them when tightened, making the thread stretch in this area. As a result, it may be quite difficult to put the original Yamaha long nut in place, and correctly torque it.
I've used this tool for over 40 years with only one 8mm collet.
