It is obvious that some people do not want this forum to be about karting, its intended purpose. While disagreement is allowed, the level of disagreement by one or two members of this forum has gone beyond acceptable to the point of rude, arrogant and self-serving. John did not want the forum to shut-down, as he felt the members needed somewhere public on the internet to chat. The level of profane discourse by just a few members is driving away others they may wish to post, but feel it just won't matter, since a few of the people will dive in and pollute a thread with off-topic posts that serve their own agend.
As such, I am to go back on my idea of not censoring anyone. I intend to revoke and ban certain people, delete some threads and posts that go beyond the spirit of what this public forum should be serving.
One can still complain about the board of directors, the head flag, the turn workers, fellow drivers, but there is a more mature way to do it other than repeating the same line over and over again. The loudest/most-posted comment does NOT win.
I have the full reins of this forum and I am going to exercise that authority in a manner I believe best befits the OVKA.
I want to talk about kart racing, darn it! I am not going to nuke the whole forum because of a few bad apples. I will nuke the bad apples, instead.

It is a public karting forum. Discuss away. Jeff's behavior had become absurd and self-destructive. It was killing off all of the useful conversation.
In any forum, a certain amount of decorum is expected of the members. Civility. Is that so much to ask for?

Ya know, if you guys spent as much time discussing karting, as you do complaining about my effort to stop an abusive poster, this forum would be jam packed with useful conversations.
I am regularly uses forums of all sorts, and on none of them would someone as abuse as Jeff had been allowed to continue for as long as he did. Go on, start another forum you can slander people all day long.
It was ban Jeff, or nuke the forum. I chose the lesser of two evils.

Chad, this is not a OVKA forum. Some talk may be about OVKA, that is all. I am sure that OVKA BOD.s do not feel like this is there forum either, so stop trying to be a Pol Pot and limiting free speech. Your not the hall monitor for OVKA are you?

The biggest shame of it all is the OVKA Board dictating to John Horn that he had to remove himself from this forum to be elected to the BOD. The BOD should not be allowed to do that, and secondly, I wouldn't have accepted that requirement personally. 
Now we have a RAY RAY wannabe running the forum again

That reminds me of another agreement that a few had to make in order to belong to a "group". Politic's are going to ruin karting not the economy!
It's a shame that people are "blackmailed" into doing a job.
Jeff should be allowed to speak or post whatever....nobody makes us log into this site and read anything. If you don't like it or don't agree with Jeff then don't visit this site. What we need is less Government.....I mean less of Big Brother watching over us and telling what we can and can't do.
